Sailor Mars

Rei Hino is 14-year-old traditional Japaniese girl who lives with her perverted grandfather in the Hikawa Shirine. She's a Shinto Priestess. Her mother died when the girl was young. Rei goes to a school for catholic girls only. The priestess is hotheaded and strongheaded girl, and she often seems to be mean to Usagi, but in fact Rei cares about her friends. She's also very dedicated to her mission as Sailor Mars and when it's time to defend the world, she's always there!

Rei, or rather Rei-chan, as her friends call her, is a devoutly Shinto and she has the power to channel her visions and to "read" fire. She also can use an anti-evil spirits scroll. She throws it against possessed people saying "Rin, Pyou, Tou, Sha, Kai, Jin, Retsu, Sai, Zen! Akuryou Taisan!", returning the human to his/her normal self. The girl has six-sense about evil things, and she's the first person who guesses Tuxedo Kamen's true identity.

Rei was born on April, 17, her blood type is AB. Her astrological sign is Aries. Rei's favourite colours are black and red.

Usagi, Ami and Rei met each other for first time in episode 10. In the same episode Usagi and Ami went to the Hikawa Shirine to buy talismans. Rei feels some evil energy and she throws her ofuda anti-evil spirits spell against Usagi. Usagi collapses and when she feel okay, Usagi and Ami leave Rei's shirine. However, Luna leaves the transformation stick of Sailor Mars there. Rei finds it later and keeps it. Jadeite, who is in disguise, works at the temple, so that he can kidnaps students. Rei realizes that he's a bad entity by "reading" fire, and when she confronts him, the general sends the girl to the hole in space where the youma keeps the kindnapped students.

Usagi, Ami and Luna go to the bus-stop, where the bus vanishes with students. Unfortunately, Ami is late and only Usagi and Luna take it. In the dimension hole Usagi, Rei and Luna meet each other and the cat tells Rei to shout "Mars Power! Make-up!". Thus, the Soldier of fire, Sailor Mars, appears and joins the Sailor Soldiers. She uses her attack called "Fire Soul" and destroys the monster.

Rei's first love interest is Mamoru Chiba. After Usagi and Mamoru become lovers, Rei has a crush on a guy who works in the Hikawa Shirine. His name is Yuuichirou and he has a really big crush on Rei. She, however, doesn't admit the fact that they have feeling for each other, but it's obviously that there's love between them.

Rei becomes Usagi's best friend, too (I include Naru). They are often seen shouting at each other because Rei thinks Usagi is immature at points, but they still love each other. The Shinto priestess is actually shouting at the people who are her closests friends.

Sailor Mars is protected by the planet Mars, which gives her powerful fire attacks.

Powers Mars Power! Make-up! - Rei's first transformation using the pen Luna gave her. First used in episode 8.
Rin, Pyou, Tou, Sha, Kai, Jin, Retsu, Sai, Zen! Akuryou Taisan! - Using her ofuda, Sailor Mars/Rei Hino blasts evil spirits.
Fire Soul! - Sailor Mars puts her hand together and channels a stream of fire against her enemies.
Mars Star Power! Make-up! - Rei's second transformation which is used during the R and S and SuperS seasons.
Fire Soul Bird! - This is Sailor Mars' rare attack, used in the first arc of Sailor Moon R. "Fire Soul Bird" is an improved version of "Fire Soul". Mars combines her fire powers and the ofuda, in order to create a mighty attack.
Mars Crystal Power! Make-up! - Rei's third transformation used in the end of SuperS and during Sailor Stars, which Rei uses in order to become Super Sailor Mars.
Mars Flame Sniper! - This is Super Sailor Mars' main attack during the end of SuperS and during Sailor Stars. Mars targets a fire arrow against her enemies.
