Codename Wa Sailor V (Codename is Sailor V in English, or Codename Sailor V) is a manga comic book created by Naoko Takeuchi, before she drew Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon. The Japanese word "manga" is a combination of the words "man", which means funny, and "ga", which means episode series. Takeuchi's creation consists of three volumes including fifteen chapters, and is the main reason for creating Sailor Moon Anime, Manga, Musicals, and Live Action.

Minako Aino is a normal 13-year-old girl who is training in the school gym. She falls down, landing on a white cat. Later, the same cat tells Minako, or Mina, as she's often called, that she's the champion of justice, the sailor suited pretty soldier Sailor Venus. He gives Mina a pen and tells her to yell out "Moon Power, Make-Up!". By yelling this phrase out, Minako becomes Sailor V and from now on, her mission is to fight against gangsters and monsters. The white cat's name is Artemis and he is Sailor V's guardian cat. He has got green eyes in the manga, and obviously, he has the ability to talk. He is originally from the White Moon Kingdom. Artemis plays an important role in Codename Sailor V, helping Mina.

Codename Sailor V finishes with Sailor V deciding to find her precious allies. She feels that they are in Tokyo.

In Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Anime and Manga we learn that Sailor V is heart broken and she leaves England, comes to Japan becoming Sailor Venus. She joins the Sailor Team.

Powers Moon Power, Make-up! - Mina's first transformation using the pen which was given to her by Artemis. This transformation is used for first time in Chapter 1.
Cresent Beam! - Sailor Venus' first attack. The monster is destroyed by a stream of light after it sees its reflection. This attack is used for first time in Chapter 1.
Sailor V Kick! - This is Sailor V's kick attack.
Crescent Moon Power! Transform me into ... ! - Mina yells this phrase out in order to transform into another person. This transformation is similar to Usagi's "Moon Power! Transform me into ...!" power.
Crescent Boomerang! - Sailor V throws her Moon Compact like a boomerang.
Venus Power! Love Crescent Shower! - Using her second Moon Compact, Sailor V blasts Pandora.
